People were stunned and many questions were asked when a seal was found dead on the shores in Long Beach. Experts say that it is caused from a toxic brews of a poisonous algae. The fishes eats the algae and the seal feeds from the fishes and kills them. The said algae was never discovered until now by marine life doctors and is continuing to study the short and long term effects to the sea creatures and the locals that live near shores. Dr. Erik Pill, stated in his Daily Journal article, "We are still investigating this new dilemma we are having as fast and thoroughly as we can. Using our state-of-the-art technology, I believe we can study and stop such catastrophic element with less time and less expense." Meanwhile, the local beaches from Long Beach to San Clemente are currently closed until a months period due to such investigation.
"In a three-week period, we found 5 seals dead on the shore," said Danny Roberts, a local, "and this isn't normal." Police authority are patrolling outside perimeter to make sure the poisonous algae hasn't spread all over California.
